A Magyarok Világszövetsége mélységes együttérzéssel gondol a palesztinok lakta Gázából 2023. október 7-én indított Hamasz-támadás ezernél is több zsidó áldozatára. Különösképpen fájlaljuk a gyermekek, asszonyok és az ártatlan civilek életének kioltását.

Ezzel együtt fájlaljuk az ártatlan palesztinok ezreinek az izraeli válaszcsapások által kiontott vérét. Annak a nemzetnek képviselőiként, amelynek apostoli királya hét évszázadon keresztül Jeruzsálem királya is volt, és amelynek jász népe Gázát alapította, féltő aggodalommal gondolunk a zsidó és a palesztin nép jelenére és jövőjére. Az eddigi áldozatok óriási számának ismeretében önmérsékletre kérjük a fegyveres összetűzésben álló feleket.

A keresztény világ legnagyobb civil szervezetével, a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszttel összhangban mondjuk: Miként a Hamasz horrorszerű támadásait semmivel nem lehet igazolni, úgy a Gáza korlátlan elpusztításával járó válaszlépés sem igazolható.

Statement

The World Federation of Hungarians remembers with deepest compassion the more than thousand Jewish victims of the Hamas attack launched on October 7, 2023 from the Palestinian-inhabited Gaza. We especially mourn the loss of the lives of children, women and of innocent civilians.

At the same time, we mourn the bloodshed of thousands of innocent Palestinians by Israeli retaliatory strikes. As representatives of a nation whose apostolic king was also the king of Jerusalem for seven centuries, and whose Jazyg people founded Gaza, we think about the present and the future of the Jewish and Palestinian people with fearful concern. Knowing the huge number of victims so far, we ask the parties being in the armed conflict to exercise restraint.

In accordance with the largest non-governmental organization in the Christian world, the International Red Cross, we say: Just as the horror-like attacks of Hamas cannot be justified by anything, neither can a response involving the unlimited destruction of Gaza be justified.
